The new Dualog Quota app helps crew manage their internet access onboard in a secure, fair, and user-friendly way. This service replaces Dualog’s Crew Connection app, which was previously used to manage internet quotas on ships. The new app offers a modern, mobile-friendly interface making it easier for crew to manage their access and stay in control.
What crew can do with Quota
Track Internet usage in real time
Crew can now view their data usage immediately, how much they’ve used, what’s left (in data or time), and daily breakdowns by carriers like Starlink, VSAT, or 4G.
Control Internet across multiple devices and platforms
Each seafarer can manage internet access on multiple devices under the same account. The service is optimised for mobile, tablet, and desktop use and works on Android, iOS, and any modern web browser via the web interface.
Select which carrier to use onboard
Quota lets crew choose their preferred carrier. For example, they can use Starlink for high-bandwidth activities such as video streaming or family calls, while reserving VSAT for lower-demand tasks like corporate email or social media browsing.
Top up data with full self-service
Once their free allowance is used up, crew can buy more data directly in the app, no need to contact IT or the captain. Top-ups integrate seamlessly with the Crew Management System, enabling automatic payroll deductions for purchased Internet.
Designed for the realities of ship life
The Quota app is part of Dualog’s internet management framework, which also includes network control and DNS protection tools. This system is designed to make ship IT simpler and more secure.
